Learning at Home
We expect all children to read their reading book at home at least three times a week to support their learning. Children should also access their 'TT Rockstars' for at least 15 minutes three times a week.  

Each year group will also have six 'Teach Your Parent' activities per term linked to their wider curriculum learning. These are to enrich your child's wider knowledge and support you with further learning at home and are optional to complete.

Year 3 had a wonderful time visiting the library. The children enjoyed exploring a wide range of books, discovering new authors and finding exciting stories to read. They showed great enthusiasm and curiosity throughout the visit and left feeling inspired to continue their reading journey. We are very proud of their excellent behaviour and love of learning!

Our Sports Day was a fantastic event filled with energy, teamwork and determination. The children took part in a variety of races and activities, showing excellent sportsmanship and enthusiasm throughout the day. It was wonderful to see everyone encouraging one another and trying their very best. A big well done to all our pupils for their positive attitude and effort and thank you to the families who came along to support and cheer them on!

To support our writing, Year 3 took part in an exciting design and technology project, creating dragon caves and nests. The children first used Tinkercad to design and plan their ideas, carefully thinking about the features a dragon might need in its habitat. They then brought their designs to life by building their final models. This creative project helped the children develop their design skills while inspiring rich vocabulary and imaginative ideas for their writing.

During Pottery Week, the children studied the work of renowned ceramic artist Clarice Cliff and explored her distinctive use of colour and pattern. Inspired by her designs, they created beautiful clay flowers for the Midsummer Night’s Garden. The children thoroughly enjoyed the creative process and were proud to see their vibrant artwork displayed as part of the garden.

As part of our Romans topic, Year 3 enjoyed an exciting trip to the Grosvenor Museum in Chester. The children explored Roman artefacts, discovered what life was like in Roman Chester, marched like Roman soldiers and visited Chester’s famous Roman Amphitheatre. It was a fantastic day of hands-on learning and historical adventure!
