Learning at Home
We expect all children to read their reading book at home at least three times a week to support their learning. Children should also access their 'TT Rockstars' for at least 15 minutes three times a week.
Each year group will also have six 'Teach Your Parent' activities per term linked to their wider curriculum learning. These are to enrich your child's wider knowledge and support you with further learning at home and are optional to complete.

What a fantastically busy term we’ve had in Year 2!
We’ve been Aspiring to Achieve across all subjects and learning loads of exciting new things along the way.
In Writing, we’ve dived into brilliant stories like The Koala Who Could and George’s Marvellous Medicine. These inspired us to write a character description of Kevin the Koala and even help George by creating magical instructions for his marvellous medicine!
In Maths, we’ve been getting to grips with the building blocks of numbers – tens and ones. We’ve mastered adding and subtracting two-digit numbers and put our skills to the test with daily problem-solving challenges.
History took us on a trip back in time as we explored how our local high street has changed over the years. Meanwhile, Geography helped us find our place on the map and understand what makes our community special.
Science was all about materials! We investigated their properties to help ‘Eddy the Teddy’ design the perfect raincoat.
Art has been a colourful adventure! Inspired by The Colour Monster, we experimented with paint and collage, choosing our own materials to create unique masterpieces.
And finally… PE stole the show! After lots of hard work, we learned a fantastic dance routine to I Just Can’t Wait to Be King from Disney’s The Lion King. Performing it for our parents was a real highlight – we were so proud of ourselves!
