Year 2 have been up to lots of exciting things, including sports day, some exciting trips and continuing to learn exciting things in lessons. As always, we have made amazing progress in our writing and reading, as evidenced in our shining school reports! Maths has been exciting as we have learnt to tell the time and in DT we have brought our topic on puppets to a close by inviting some parents in to join us in making our hand puppets.

Sports day was a success! The weather was bright and sunny, and we impressed our adults by taking part in a range of exciting races. These included the sack race, hurdles, dress up, egg and spoon and potato race. We won stickers based on our position and everyone in Year 2 managed to earn at least one bronze! How fantastic!

It has certainly been the term for trips. In addition to learning about the mosque and habitats in the classroom, we got some first-hand experience at visiting places to have some learning of our own. We took a trip to City Central Mosque, which helped provide us with a firmer understanding of the practices of the Islamic faith. We then later into the term had the opportunity, alongside Miss Irving, to visit Peak Wildlife Park. We saw meerkats, wallabies, lemurs and polar bears! It was a fantastic day enjoyed by all.
