After returning to school following an extended period of remote learning, the whole school took part in a week based solely around Art and D&T.
The theme of the week was ‘Spring’ and each year group was then given a more focussed topic to base their work around. These were:
EYFS: Spring transitional art based outdoors
Year 1: Insects
Year 2: Eggs
Year 3: Spring animals
Years 4-6: Spring flowers to then create a collaborative wall hanging.
Each class had to research their topic and practise a range of skills including sketching and painting with a variety of media. They then produced a design that became their final D&T piece.
Years 4 to 6 worked in their classes to produce flower themed textile squares which were then joined together to create a large wall-hanging.
The children immersed themselves into their projects and thoroughly enjoyed a week of expressing themselves creatively, innovation and mindfulness. All of the staff hope you appreciate all of the effort the children have put in to their fantastic work.
Please enjoy the wonderful pictures and videos from a fabulous week!
