The Seven Stars Collaborative Network

Biography We are a group of headteachers and Heads of School from six primary schools and one nursery school, each with differing catchment areas and different challenges. Six of the schools are in the city and one is in Staffordshire.  Three of the schools are part of a had a federation. The heads from the seven schools have worked together for some years before coming together as ‘Seven Stars Collaborative Network’ and working together with Worcester University.

We have engaged in different activities including:

  • Moderation activities in English and Mathematics
  • Termly subject leader meetings to enhance teaching and learning
  • NQT support network
  • Joint governor training including “The Key Role of the Governor” and “PREVENT”
  • Joint leadership training for all teachers through Worcester University
  • Joint assessment meeting through Educational Associates delivered by Ros Ferrera
  • Exemplification materials produced for EYFS
  • Joint commissioning of services, for example “Bee Active” sports provider
  • “Critical Friend” visits by headteachers and senior leaders
  • Good practice visits
  • Future plans include:
  • Joint school council working
  • Heads and Heads of School to attend SASCAL Headteacher’s conference
  • To arrange and deliver a joint Gifted and Talented Science group
  • Inter-School Sports event
  • Joint INSET Summer term 2017
